Notice served for second round of national BT Group strike action

Around 40,000 BT Group workers will hold their second two-day strike against real-term pay cuts on Tuesday August 30 and Wednesday August 31 following management’s failure to take up the union’s offer of serious talks to end the dispute.

Across the country striking BT and Openreach workers have received a remarkable level of public, political and wider trade union movement support at hundreds of CWU picket lines across the country.
Far from experiencing negativity, public anger or criticism, CWU activists and branches have reported an extraordinary outpouring of solidarity for the union’s stand as around 40,000 BT Group employees took part in the first national strike in BT since 1987.

BT GROUP WORKERS TO HOLD TWO DAY NATIONAL STRIKE AGAINST IMPOSED REAL-TERMS PAY CUT

Over 40,000 BT Group workers have announced a two-day national strike against real-terms pay cuts, as their union claim that greedy bosses have “stuck two fingers up” to key workers.
The Communication Workers Union (CWU) – which represents BT Group workers – has today (Friday 15th July) served notice for strike action that will take place on Friday 29th July and Monday 1st August.
